Mid-September
2003
Drier
weather, bluer skies and a chance to walk into more park areas as
the poison ivy, grass and nettle has died back.
Abundant
rainfall has kept the area lush and the river muddy.
I've
observed variations in the park's appearance from year to year and
see, for example, that this year was not favorable to
Primrose, but was to the Teasel and while last year showed little
Perilla Mint, this year seems to be producing a bounteous crop.
The effect of this natural variation, may cause worry to those,
who fear the loss of this plant or that - concern that
something's over-running or choking out some favorite
flora-pal.
